Dental Assisting: A Springboard to Career Success
Dr. Swift: I feel very fortunate to have fallen in love with a career in dentistry. They say if you love what you do it will never feel like work.
Invest in Yourself as a Dental Assistant
Dr. Gerlach: Over my 32 years as a practicing dentist, I’ve found my dental assistants make a first-hand, tangible impact on our patients. Not only do they comfort the scared patient through a difficult journey with kind words and hand-holding, they assist me in making the patient’s smile of their dreams come true. To do your best as a dental assistant, you need to be a people-person—someone who not only enjoys meeting new people, but also someone who enjoys lending a helping hand.
Dental Assisting: A Career that Uses Your Compassionate Nature
Dr. Danna: I knew from the time I was 13 that I wanted to be a dentist. While going to school at night, I worked in a dental office for 9 years as a dental assistant. It was truly one of the best jobs I could have had. I was empowered to work with patients, get to know them, be a part of their lives and ultimately make a difference in their world.
The Ribbon is Cut!
Along with approximately 75 DCDS members and friends, Mayor Robert Dye of Farmers Branch was on hand to assist Dr. Hilton Israelson in the ribbon cutting that marked the grand opening of the DCDS Dental Assisting School (DCDSDAS). Denco Construction sponsored the grand opening, which included self-tours of the facilities and presentation.
